Vritomartis is our number-one naturist choice because its identity is clear. It combines a proper hotel holiday with established naturist etiquette, outdoor freedom and enough structure to help a first-time visitor feel secure.
This is an important distinction: Vritomartis is naturist, not a swingers resort. The official etiquette expressly prohibits sexual activity and inappropriate personal behaviour in shared areas.

The atmosphere felt calm and recognisably naturist rather than provocative. That clarity removes much of the uncertainty newcomers can feel. You know why people are there, the etiquette is published and respect for personal space is central.
We also like that Vritomartis feels like a complete holiday in Crete rather than an enclosed venue. The landscape, nearby village, boat trips and walking opportunities give couples plenty to enjoy beyond the pool.
Our advice for a first visit is simple: do not worry about looking confident. Follow the etiquette, carry a towel, avoid staring and let the normality of the setting do the rest.
Understanding the clothing rules
Pool and naturist beach
Guests are expected to be nude. These are the clearest naturist zones and the places where phones and photography require particular care.
Other outdoor areas
From sunrise to sunset, outdoor areas are naturist or clothing-optional according to the resort’s published guidance.
Indoor areas
Clothes—not merely a towel or pareo—must be worn inside. Pack comfortable casual clothing for meals and indoor facilities.
Privacy and etiquette
The official code is unusually clear, which is one reason we recommend reading it before arrival:
- Ask before taking any photograph containing another person.
- Never photograph guests without their express consent.
- Use a towel whenever sitting nude.
- Respect personal space and do not stare.
- Keep outdoor audio private by using headphones.
- No sexual activity or similar inappropriate behaviour in shared areas.
These are not fussy restrictions; they are what allow a mixed group of naturists to feel safe and relaxed together.
Rooms, food and the wider holiday
The resort offers rooms in the main hotel and individual bungalows set around the grounds. Select according to mobility, preferred privacy and how close you want to be to the central facilities rather than choosing only by the room photograph.
