Andy & Anita’s Top 5 Naturist & Lifestyle Destinations

OUR HONEST TRAVEL SHORTLIST

Andy and Anita’s top five destinations we have visited

We have genuinely visited all five destinations. This shortlist combines our first-hand perspective as a couple with current research into resort policies, specialist accommodation and the practical questions couples should answer before booking.

First-hand and rechecked: Andy and Anita have visited every destination on this list. Our personal perspective comes from those trips; prices, resort rules and booking details are separately rechecked against current official information.
1COUPLES-ONLY LIFESTYLE

Puerto Morelos and Riviera Maya, Mexico

Why we recommend it

This area contains both Desire Riviera Maya and Desire Pearl, giving couples two established lifestyle properties to compare near the same Caribbean destination. The official Desire information clearly separates designated au naturel areas from clothed restaurants and other public spaces.

For us, the attraction is the ability to choose between Riviera Maya’s energetic programme and Pearl’s more intimate positioning.

What couples should verify

  • Which property matches our preferred social atmosphere
  • The event calendar and current theme nights
  • Final GBP cost including flights and transfers
  • Room cancellation and travel-insurance terms

2ADULT LIFESTYLE

Negril, Jamaica

Why we recommend it

Negril combines the famous Seven Mile Beach with Hedonism II, an adults-only, lifestyle-friendly resort that publishes unusually detailed rules on clothing zones, consent, phones and photography. Jamaica’s official tourism site describes Negril’s beach, sunsets and cliffs, so the wider destination offers more than a resort bubble.

This appeals if we wanted a lively lifestyle stay with a recognisable Caribbean destination outside the gates.

What couples should verify

  • Whether our dates overlap a specialist event week
  • Airport transfer time and licensed transport
  • Room position: nude or clothing-optional side
  • Accessibility, as the resort notes steps and slopes

3NATURIST · NOT LIFESTYLE

Vera Playa, Almería, Spain

Why we recommend it

Vera is one of Europe’s best-known naturist areas. The local tourism authority describes its internationally recognised naturist beach, while the area includes naturist apartments and Playavera, a dedicated naturist hotel.

It looks particularly useful for UK couples who want genuine naturism without automatically entering a sexual lifestyle environment.

What couples should verify

  • The exact rules of the chosen apartment or hotel
  • Whether a car is useful for the wider Almería coast
  • Seasonal restaurant and local-service opening
  • Pool, beach and evening clothing expectations

4NATURIST · NOT LIFESTYLE

Sfakia, southern Crete

Why we recommend it

Southern Crete offers dramatic coastline, villages, hiking and local food alongside Vritomartis, a licensed naturist resort near Chora Sfakion. Its official policies are clear: outdoor areas are naturist or clothing-optional by day, guests are nude at the pool and naturist beach, and clothing is required indoors.

It appeals as a proper holiday destination with naturism included—not merely a resort chosen for one feature.

What couples should verify

  • The most practical airport and transfer route
  • Whether to hire a car for southern Crete
  • Season dates and half-board room availability
  • Excursions where normal public clothing is required

5NATURIST VILLAGE

Charco del Palo, Lanzarote

Why we recommend it

Charco del Palo is an established naturist village on Lanzarote’s north-east coast rather than a conventional hotel complex. The concept interests us because naturism is part of the village environment and accommodation is mainly self-catering.

For UK travellers, Lanzarote can also offer a warmer-weather option outside the peak Mediterranean summer.

What couples should verify

  • The precise rules and condition of the chosen apartment
  • Car hire and access to food shops
  • Rock-pool and sea conditions rather than assuming a sandy beach
  • How quiet the village is during our intended dates

How our shortlist may change

This is not a permanent “best in the world” ranking. We will change it when operator policies, prices, access or our own priorities change. Current order reflects our perspective as a couple and the options available now, not a claim that destination one is objectively better than destination five.

We checked the destination and resort information on 13 August 2026. Always verify current Foreign Office advice, entry rules, insurance and operator terms before paying.
