Hedonism II in Negril is our number-one lifestyle resort. This honest guide explains why we rank it first, what the atmosphere is really like, the clothing rules and what a UK couple should discuss before booking.
Our verdict
Best for: sociable, open-minded adults who want a lively all-inclusive Caribbean holiday where naturism and the lifestyle can exist side by side.
We put Hedonism II first because it offers something unusually difficult to find: a genuinely playful adult atmosphere without making participation compulsory. You can be social, dress for the theme nights, relax on the beach or explore more—at your own pace and within your own boundaries.
It is not a quiet romantic hideaway, a traditional naturist retreat or a standard adults-only hotel. Couples who understand that distinction are far more likely to enjoy it.

What it felt like for us as a couple
The main difference between Hedonism II and a mainstream adults-only resort is the openness. Conversations start easily, guests make an effort for the evenings and there is much less pretence about why people chose the hotel.
For us, the resort works best when a couple arrives with boundaries already discussed. Nobody should interpret “lifestyle-friendly” as an obligation. Consent is still personal, specific and reversible, and doing nothing beyond enjoying the social atmosphere is a perfectly valid holiday.
Our advice is to spend the first day learning the layout and atmosphere together. There is no prize for rushing. Agree how you will check in with each other, what remains private and how either partner can pause a situation without needing to justify it.
Is Hedonism II naturist or a swingers resort?
It overlaps both worlds, but neither label tells the whole story. Hedonism II officially describes itself as lifestyle-friendly and clothing-optional. It has an au naturel side where nudity is required and clothing-optional areas where guests have a choice.
That is different from traditional naturism, where social nudity is normally non-sexual. It is also different from a private swingers club. Hedonism is a complete resort holiday with accommodation, restaurants, beaches, activities and entertainment.
Our classification is therefore: lifestyle-friendly Caribbean resort with nude and clothing-optional zones. Couples wanting only calm traditional naturism may prefer one of our naturist resort recommendations.
Clothing and privacy rules
Clothing-optional areas
You can wear swimwear, go topless or be nude. This is the gentler place to begin if either of you is uncertain.
Au naturel areas
Nudity is required. The resort says electronic devices—including phones, tablets, smart watches and recording wearables—are prohibited in nude areas.
Restaurants and public spaces
Cover-ups or suitable clothing are required in restaurants and in public areas including the lobby, shops and bars specified by the resort.
Privacy rules matter here. Never include another guest in a photograph without permission, even in a clothing-optional area where personal phone use is allowed.
Food, drinks and activities
The official all-inclusive package covers meals and snacks, premium-brand drinks, entertainment and a wide choice of land and water activities. The resort currently lists several restaurants and grills, five bars, Wi-Fi and nightly themed entertainment.
That breadth is important: the holiday does not depend entirely on lifestyle activity. You can have an enjoyable day eating, swimming, joining an activity or relaxing together.
Some extras and specialist experiences can cost more, so check the current inclusions for your exact room and dates. Never rely on an old social-media post or an undated affiliate price.
