Important distinction: naturist does not mean lifestyle-friendly, and adults-only does not mean either. Bare Necessities explicitly identifies its cruises as non-sexual; Bliss explicitly identifies its cruises as lifestyle-focused. Treating them as interchangeable would mislead travellers.
How we decide what belongs in the tracker
- The venue or organiser must have a functioning official website.
- A current page must clearly describe the relevant guest, clothing or conduct policy.
- We do not treat forum comments, old brochures or third-party sales copy as the primary proof.
- If an operator’s wording is ambiguous, we record the ambiguity rather than filling the gap with assumptions.
- We distinguish our interpretation from wording that the operator publishes directly.
Five policies couples should check every time
1. Who may book?
“Couples-only” can have a specific meaning in an operator’s terms. Some properties publish age, relationship or gender-configuration rules, while special event dates can introduce exceptions. Check eligibility before paying a non-refundable deposit.
2. Where does the clothing policy apply?
Pool, beach, balcony, restaurant and indoor rules may all differ. “Clothing-optional resort” rarely means that the same rule applies in every space and at every time.
3. Is the environment naturist or lifestyle-focused?
A naturist setting centres on respectful social nudity and is not inherently sexual. A lifestyle-friendly setting welcomes consensual non-monogamous couples. Some resorts combine elements of both, but one label never proves the other.
4. What protects privacy?
Look for written photography restrictions, consent rules, staff contact procedures and consequences for misconduct. Couples should understand these before arrival, not after a problem occurs.
5. Who holds the booking?
Confirm whether you are booking directly with a resort, through a cruise charter organiser, a package provider or an accommodation platform. For UK travellers, check cancellation terms, suitable travel insurance and any applicable financial protection.
