Privacy Policy

How My Travel handles personal information, cookies and affiliate tracking for UK visitors.

Last updated: 30 July 2026

My Travel (my-travel.co.uk) is a UK-focused travel inspiration and affiliate content website. We publish information about adults-only holidays, couples escapes, romantic all-inclusive resorts, cruises and discreet lifestyle-friendly travel. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and used when you visit the website, contact us, request a free guide or choose to receive email updates.

Who is responsible for your information?

For the purposes of UK data protection law, My-Travel is the trading identity responsible for personal data collected through this website. My-Travel is an affiliate publisher and is not a travel agent, tour operator or booking provider.

Correspondence address only — no visitors:
48 Greenways, Sutton Heath, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 3TR

Privacy enquiries and rights requests can be sent to info@my-travel.co.uk or submitted through our Contact page.

Information we may collect

  • Information you provide: such as your name, email address and message if you contact us or submit an enquiry.
  • Free guide requests: your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name.
  • Technical information: such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, approximate location and activity on the website.
  • Cookie and analytics information: information about how pages are used, subject to the cookie tools and consent choices available on the website.
  • Affiliate interaction information: when you click a partner link, the partner or affiliate network may record referral and booking-related tracking information under its own privacy policy.

Free guide requests and optional email updates

When you request the free My-Travel first-time couples’ guide and printable workbook, we use your email address to verify and fulfil the request, deliver the material, protect the request process from misuse and keep a limited record where necessary. First name is optional.

Requesting the guide does not automatically subscribe you to ongoing marketing. You can receive the guide without agreeing to marketing.

If you separately select the optional email-updates checkbox, we use your email address and optional first name to send occasional beginner guidance, destination ideas and My-Travel updates. The checkbox is optional and unticked by default. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contacting us.

We use double opt-in. After submitting the form, you must confirm that the email address belongs to you before the requested material is delivered. If you selected optional email updates, the same confirmation also confirms the choices submitted with the form. An unconfirmed address is not sent the guide or ongoing marketing.

Email service provider and account separation

We use MailerLite to provide the sign-up process, maintain subscriber records and deliver confirmation, guide and optional marketing emails. My-Travel determines why and how subscriber information is used, and MailerLite processes that information for us under its applicable terms and data-processing arrangements.

The same administrator login can access separate My-Travel and Immuune MailerLite accounts. My-Travel subscriber information remains in the separate My-Travel account. It is not copied into the Immuune account, transferred into groups belonging to unrelated websites or businesses, or used to market an unrelated business. We do not keep a Google Sheets copy of the subscriber list.

How we use information and our lawful bases

We may use information to operate and secure the website, respond to enquiries, fulfil guide requests, send optional marketing where consent has been given, improve website performance, prevent misuse and measure eligible affiliate referrals.

Where UK GDPR applies, our lawful bases may include legitimate interests for operating and securing an informational website and responding to genuine enquiries; consent for optional marketing and non-essential cookies where required; and legal obligation where information must be retained or disclosed by law. The lawful basis for each activity depends on its circumstances.

Email measurement and tracking

Open tracking is disabled for My-Travel campaigns and automated emails. Google Analytics tracking is also disabled, and we do not add third-party email tracking pixels or use email behaviour for sensitive-interest profiling.

MailerLite’s current system may still record ordinary information about links clicked in an email because it does not provide a complete control for disabling its normal click reporting. We do not use click information to infer or profile sexual interests, relationship type, lifestyle experience, health information or other sensitive characteristics. We do not use opens or clicks for behavioural segmentation, scoring or automated decisions.

Affiliate links, cookies and third-party travel partners

My Travel contains links to third-party travel partners and comparison services. If you follow a partner link and make a booking, we may receive commission. This does not affect the price you pay. Travel partners handle booking, payment, passenger and account data under their own privacy notices and terms.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used to make the site function, maintain security, remember preferences, measure website visits and attribute affiliate referrals. Essential cookies may be necessary for site operation. Non-essential analytics or advertising cookies should be used only in line with applicable consent requirements.

Data sharing and international transfers

We may share limited information with service providers who support website hosting, security, email delivery, analytics or affiliate tracking. Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where applicable, appropriate contractual or other transfer safeguards should be used.

How long information is retained

The following is our operational retention schedule and may be reviewed as the service and legal requirements develop.

Guide-only requester records are reviewed for deletion or anonymisation after 90 days. We retain only information genuinely needed to demonstrate the request, maintain security, investigate misuse or honour an objection.

People who separately consent to marketing are retained while subscribed. Marketing records with no meaningful non-tracked activity are reviewed after 24 months. That review uses information such as subscription date, confirmed delivery failures, replies, direct enquiries, preference changes, later form submissions and documented contact rather than inferred opens, clicks or sensitive-interest scoring.

If you unsubscribe, we remove you from active marketing. We may retain the smallest suppression record reasonably necessary to prevent accidental re-addition. A suppression record is not used for marketing, advertising or profiling.

Your UK data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability. You may withdraw consent at any time and object to direct marketing.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Information about your rights and raising a concern is available at https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

Security, children and changes

We take proportionate steps to protect website information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. This website focuses on adult-oriented holiday inspiration and is not directed at children. We may update this policy when our services, relationships or legal obligations change; the latest version will be displayed on this page.
